Garden hose connection to return

I have a 14x28 vinyl-liner metal wall in-ground pool with 2 returns. I'd like to connect a garden hose to one return, for an inflatable pool slide that has a garden hose connection for water spray. I found a 1.5" male-NPT to 3/4" garden-hose-thread adapter. Can I remove the return's eye, screw in the adapter, and connect a hose? Just want to make sure I'm not hurting anything by reducing flow rate or something. It would just be for when the slide is used, not a permanent swap. Thanks!

With 2 returns, some water will go to the slide and more than usual will go out the other return. It will be fine.

Please post pics when complete. This is a neat upgrade/hack.

You can probably pick one up at HD or Lowes next to the Submersible Pumps...

EDIT...Disregard...looks like they're all 1 1/4".
