Central Texas is getting a cold spell this week and I have two Pentair pumps, as one of them is for the in-floor cleaner. When freeze protection kicked in last night, I noticed on my app that the cleaner pump was only on. Should I be keeping both pumps on? I have my scheduled time for the filter pump throughout the night up to Noon at low speed(1200rpm). So last night, I noticed the IF cleaner pump was only on....I imagine that the freeze protection kicked in. But why not for both pumps?

I have two Pentair pumps, IF cleaner and a filter. This week its been cold here in Central TX and at times have dipped below 32. My Pentair freeze mode is set at 34 degrees. My equipment is surrounded by 3 sides of stone, 6' high with the front facing the north so during the winter, the equipment gets zero north winds. I had built a frame inside and covered the top with pressure-treated boards. I also hung a tarp on the opening back side(facing the south side). During this weeks winter cold snap, I placed a tarp on top of the boards for additional coverage and possible warmth. Anyway, I noticed my Pentair temps are approx 4-6 degrees warmer than the temperature outside the sheltered area. Hence, when the temps this week got down to 29-30 degrees, the freeze mode never kicked in. (I have my filter pump running at night at 1200rpm.) However, when the temps reached below 29 degrees, I did notice my IF cleaner did kick in on Freeze mode.

Do I have a concern where the sheltered area is warmer than the outside and creates an issue where the IF cleaner pump doesn't kick on, there will be no water thru those pipes and IF cleaner pump(between 29-32 degrees)?

Water can freeze in pipes and valves outside of your tented area if water is not flowing.

So since my sheltered area is warmer than the outside area, which would prevent the freeze mode to kick in until the temps hit in the 20's, then I should probably raise the Pentair freeze mode so that my filter and IF cleaner kicks in. Correct?

Yup.
