My pool pump went off so the pool service guy installed Jandy Pro series VS Flopro pump (1.65 HP) and Jandy iqpump01 interface.

I also have RS6 controller inside the house (It does not work any more, I cannot turn on/off pool pump using the RS6 controller now as the guy told me that Jandy VSFlopro pump is not compatible with RS6 controller). So now I control the pump on/off thru Aqualink phone app.

I don't know what is the freeze control protection on Jandy VSFlopro pump. How can I find out that? Right now my RS6 controller inside is showing Freeze Protection On but the pump is not running.

I thought Flopro variable pump should be having its own freeze protection. Is that not the case? How can we set freeze protection? Any help is appreciated. Thank You!!

Sorry but the posts from last evening were lost during a forum upgrade that was going on at the same time.

I think JamesW had an explanation on the Freeze Protect. I reviewed the online manual and did not see anything. Do you have your owners manual?

Take care.

I believe for now, your best plan would be to run the pump continuously at a low RPM (say 1000) when freezing temperatures are expected. Do you know how to bypass the automation and run the pump on 'service' mode or some other bypass mode?

There is an online manual but as you have not updated your signature with more specifics of this pump, it is hard to be sure I was looking at the right manual.

Take care.

When enabled to do so, the controller monitors the
temperature inside the pump and will activate the
variable-speed pump at the eStar speed when the
temperature approaches freezing. The run duration of
the pump freeze protect operation is adjustable from 30
minutes to 8 hours, or may be disabled completely.
To set the pump freeze protect operation, from the
service setup menu select
PUMP FREEZE PROTECT
.
Press
MENU
. Using the arrow keys, set the duration to
the desired value. To disable pump freeze protect, set the
duration to 0:00. Press
MENU
to accept and store.

The above is from the manual for the Variable Speed Controller.

I am not sure about your setup as I have limited knowledge on Jandy equipment and automation, but it appears the pump has built in Freeze Protection. You just need to be sure it is enabled.

From what I read that controller is just an interface to phone or internet control. So the pump controller that came on the pump is gone? It can be located on the pump or placed on a wall nearby with a patch cord, according to their website.

Found this on the iqPump manual -
Global Pump Settings:
min & max speeds, freeze protect, and other
modes such as Quick Clean, Timed Run, and Timed Stop, are only available
when directly connected to the iQPUMP01 via a
Wi-Fi to Phone
connection.
