Too bad they not free POOL WATER test kits ... way more useful. Although knowing the government they'd probably consider test strips to be an appropriate "test kit" ...

Well.... these COVID kits ARE the test strip kits. Not terribly reliable but good for a quick and dirty.

It is weird because if you start at the advertised site, www.covidtests.gov, the "Order" button takes you straight to the USPS site. Thanks to @PoolGate for the heads up!

It makes sense to start from the distribution points. I bet each USPS gets a supply of them to deliver.

I have said since the beginning that they should have done this. Just mail tests to every address & all those who are positive could isolate. I can’t believe it has taken this long.

These tests are prone to both user and test errors. If you are symptomatic AND test positive on one of these tests I think you can safely assume you have COVID but any other scenario is suspect.

I noticed some folks on one of my fb groups mentioning the same thing - could be a glitch. Only time will tell.

I think they should just mail them out to everyone. What’s the point of having us ask for them anyway? It would be nice for anyone to just have these on hand.

Can’t wait to see how ingenious crooks scoop these up fraudulently get them sent to a bogus drop-off address. Then resell them on eBay for $20 a test …. You know it’s gonna happen, just a matter of time.

Doesn’t have to be crooks. No doubt people will resell the kits for $5-$20.

Let me see now if I can put on an order to my PO Box. And then to my vacation house.

And then there will be the mailbox thefts.

I may need to open a Shopify store.

I was going to mention something similar. They can spoof the usps site and then collect your email and postal address and sell it to spam marketers since they know the info is legit.
