ok I'm finally asking this question.

Using my test kit I'm always able to get chlorine levels to read. But the free chlorine that's the second part of the chlorine test I'm never able to get anything. I keep my cya at about 40. I've read now it should be 70 minimum? Pool is always clear, though

Why do you think you need to keep your CYA at 70? Do you have a SWG?

You may be confusing FC with CC or TC. FC is usually the frist reading you get.

Post up a full set of current test results.

No I have chlorine pool. I was reading another forum saying that minimum cya should be 70.

If you start mixing advice/info from other sources/forums with TFP methodology and teachings, you are only going to confuse yourself. You need to decide which one to use. Me, I chose TFP 5 years ago and never looked back. I found it concise, easy and cheaper than what I was doing before i found TFP.

Follow the FC/CYA Levels for your pool type - non SWCG or SWCG
