Foamy and Cloudy

Welcome to TFP! Foam on the water is sometimes related to using a product with additives not ideal for pools such as scented or splashless bleach. It would help if you posted a full set of water test results and confirmed which test kit you use to test your water. Here at TFP we're all about accurate test numbers, and the TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C test kits have proven themselves great for the task.

Also tell us how you typically chlorinate the water and any other products you may add on a regular basis. If you suspect you have algae after opening, be sure to read our SLAM Process.

Our Pool Care Basics page has lots of great info, so be sure to check that out as well. Enjoy the forum. :swim:

I use Baquacil…are these test kits usable with Baquacil?

Test strips are typically extremely vague an unreliable. In addition, a Baqua pool introduces a new set of challenges as compared to chlorine which is why we recommend converting if possible.

Still, there may be some advice @Donldson could provide to help. Stand by......

Above ground 18’ round 10,000 gallon pool with cloudy water…we are a Baquacil pool…sand filter…used Flocc a week ago….waited 28 hours and vacuumed pool…refilled pool and balanced water…ran filter for
2 days…could almost see bottom so did another Flocc treatment under pool dealer’s recommendation…
again waited, vacuumed, refilled pool again and again balanced water chemistry and ran filter for day and a half….still cloudy….my question is….can I use Ultima Water Clarifier with Baquacil????
Thank you

We don't do any of the above. Mixing and matching methods makes things worse. Pick a path and follow it through. :)

Between Baqua, floc, and clarifier you're just creating a major soup that will just be harder & harder to resolve. If your end-goal is to convert to a chlorine pool, you should follow the instructions below.
