My DE filter sprang a leak last night and I lost about 2 feet of water before I saw the leak on the DE filter at the clamp. I replaced the o-ring about 6-weeks ago and noticed that it was slightly too large and am now attributing the issue to that. I picked up a replacement 0-ring and cleaned the heck out of the clasp and area but when I put the brand new o-ring on noticed that it's still seemingly an inch too big. I would say it's loose fitting and it I tighten one side of the o-ring the spillage is noticeable. Is this normal? If so, how am I supposed to get a good seal so this won't happen again? I'll try to attach pictures. I have the Pentair FNS60 and I bought the o-ring aligned to product #39010200

Of course, I'm in the middle of this right now so any quick guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!Oring slop.JPG

After calling Pentair and digging on the internet, found out that both of the last two pool stores sold me the wrong part. Needed Pentair 195008 O-Ring Tank Replacement FNS Pool and Spa D.E. Filter. It's more of a triangle shape then round. Just wanted to close the loop--be sure to use your DE part number and serial # for the right part is my suggestion.

Excellent! :goodjob:

There has been a lot of confusion about equipment manufacturers naming different equipment with similar, or even identical names.
The FNS was originally a PacFab product, and was purchased by Pentair about 20 years ago.

They also bought out a company called American Products about the same time, their filter was called "Titan".
Pentair discontinued the PacFab FNS line, but continued with the American Products filter, re- naming it the "FNS Plus".

Don't get me started with the 'Kreepy Krauly" name....
