Floating Liner

After a season of excellent chemical performance thanks to TFP, I peeled off my mesh safety cover today and found my 3yr old vinyl liner floating off the pool walls.

I've read posts on this topic back to 2015 and consulted Professor YouTube. I have a small transfer pump I can use to move water from outside the liner to inside (as recommended by several on the faculty) but is there any point in doing that before I fill the pool? I'm ready to add water but only if it's going to help, not hurt.

Here's what I'm up against. Any advice is welcome.

I would top off asap as your shucking the water from behind. Get that hose down as far as possible. Once it runs dry leave it a bit and fire her up again, repeat over and over. With cold water the liner won't be in a hurry to go back but it will. Grease the tube so you can pull it out once the liner grabs onto it. I would guess the bottom is floating also.
Just watched your vid. Did you lose all that water + what we got added from snow and rain over the winter OR did you drain that low. ( no need to drain that low, bad for the liner )

Thanks 1Sammy. The low water level is a puzzle. I have a mesh cover and expect the level to be much higher. The liner was installed in 2019 and seems in good shape. At closing, the level was just below the lowest jet. Given the considerable snow melt, where has the water gone?

My neighbour needs to empty his concrete pool for repairs so I'm pumping from his to mine while sucking the water out from behind the liner. The liner is starting to conform to the walls but I expect some issues until I get some heat in the water.

I have no advice as I'd anticipate severe wrinkling. It's nice that you n your neighbor can help each other out by you taking on his water instead of it ending up under your pool depending upon where he discharges it.

You lost around 2 feet over the winter total in the snow and rain. Remember where the level was before you started to add water as the hole may be along that depth. Only other is that main drain / piping.

Thanks again, 1Sammy. My "Main Drain" is a dummy. Maybe it was plumbed at some point, but it isn't now. Since filling the pool, the level has held so I'm thinking there's no leak. The good news is the liner is now hugging the pool walls and floor with a couple of wrinkles. My water temp is 48F so I'm hoping if summer ever comes and I can fire up the heat pump, I'll be able to work out the wrinkles. For the time being, I'm working on the chemistry just to get the pool looking good while we hope for some warmer weather.
