Floating Liner Repair Tips Needed

I have a 16’x32’ in ground with a “Bermuda” shape. It’s about a 7 year old Merlin liner. Not sure of the thickness.

It has floated pretty much every spring when I’ve opened it (over winter), and I’ve had success getting it back in order with hot water and pumping out the water from behind the liner.

This year it obviously floated while closed, actually in fewer spots than past years, but in a difficult spot along the wall of the deep end. And there actually seems to be less “float” or water behind the liner, and just the aftermath of the bead popped out of the coping.

Anyway, does anyone recommend any specific strategy or technique to tackle this? I’m thinking I may need to add some warm water behind the liner to relieve some pressure to be able to pull the liner up, as well as using hot water to stretch the pool side of the liner. One other thought I had is to try and move the popped out portion to the corner where it may have more flexibility.

What are your thoughts?

I've had this problem in the past, before the liner replacement 2 years ago. My problem was a combination of an old stretched out longer and high water table. First thing, don't lower your water for winter but make sure your lines, skimmer etc are well blown out and filled with non-toxic antifreeze for the winter. Second, liner lock 'may,' and I emphasize the may part, help. If necessary, you can help the liner lock with some sort of shim stick in there.

High water table is definitely an issue for me, although my neighbor’s IG has not had the same issues. This was “better” since I fixed the stairs. During very heavy rain in the summer, there will be some wall wrinkles, and water can be felt behind the liner, but it tends to stay in the track.

Professional closed every year, and no dropping of water level. I’ve raised it slightly at close, if anything.

I have liner lock on order. I figure that even if it floats a bit with the LL, I can pop it out and pump out the water. The biggest hassle is what happened here where it pops out and settles down over winter.
