Float valve and vac mate

Has anyone ever used a float plate underneath the vac mate skimmer basket in order to suck water from the main drain, vacuum and skimmer simultaneously…?

Or is there usually not enough suction to do that and make everything effective?

I have no experience with that cleaning system but lets see if some members can chime in.
