For a pool newb, everything went very good for my first year operating an old pool. Chemical balancing was very easy using the poolmath and recommended chemcials found here.

This year i want to get the gas heater working. I took it out of the loop as it was leaking at the pipe flanges. Its a mini max 250. I was looking at a new flange kit and noticed it has red rubber gaskets. Where do they go? What do they Seal? When i removed the flange i did not see any red gaskets or any gaskets that size.

Are those MiniMax (models 150-400) Quick Flanges or the kit (75284) available somewhere? All the sites I have found show it as unavailable. Plastic sleeves and rubber bushings can still be found (71895, 70544). Could I use some other 2" flange instead? There are 1.5" threaded flanges (471083) available for some smaller heater model, could this be used or is the bolt spacing different? Maybe two single flanges, one for input and one for output?
