First Time Testing - Salt Question

So I opened up the pool about 6 weeks ago and it has been crystal clear. We haven't been swimming due to the weather, but I decided today that I would become familiar with the TF-100 test kit.

Here are my numbers:
pH 7.8
TA 100
FC 15
CC 1
CH 200
CYA full to top and it finally disappeared
Salt 6400

I tested the salt 3 times and keep getting 6400 ppm. When I opened the pool, the guy at my pool store asked me if we switched from salt. I said no, why? He said you have 0 salt at all. I thought it was strange but they have never steered me wrong. He sent me home with 20 bags of salt. I should have questioned it because we only normally add 8-12 ever.
So if I am testing this correctly, I have twice the amount of salt I need, so I need to dump half of my pool water and refill.
Does this seem right? I don't think I can be doing the test wrong and get the same result 3 times right?

Not likely. I suspect you need to drain 50% of your pool water and replace with fresh.

I would take a sample back to that person and ask them why they told you to purchase and add unnecessary salt. At a minimum get a refund for the salt plus some free CYA you will need.
