Ok, just received my TF 100 kit and conducted test on water and got the following results
FC 2 PM
CC.5
TC 2.5
CH 350
TA 70
CYA 25
PH 7.8

Entered this info into the pool math but a bit confused on what it is telling me. "Add of % bleach. Jug size 96 oz 128 oz 174 oz 182 oz 30 oz 64 oz 121 oz . What is the weight reference for? in my case the pool measured 2 PPM, how much powder chlorine do I need to add to get to the recommended 4 PPM?

Congratulations on your TF-100! Great choice! Nice work on first test! Any questions about the tests so far?

The amount of product depends on what the active ingredient and % strength it is. If you look at the product packaging, it will tell you, usually the bottom or bottom right under active ingredient....%

Your powder will either be dichlor, cal-hypo, or possibly trichlor or lith-hypo. If cal-hypo the % will be like 33 50 60 73 or so. Let us know and we'll help with poolmath calculation. We got you, just need to know exactly which powder you have to answer correctly.

BattleOfYakima,

Thank you for your help... I am using CHLOR BRITE, active ingredient is Sodium dichloro s Triazinetrione dehydrate and the strength is 99%

My reading from yesterday are:

FC 2
CC .05
TC 2.05
CH 375
TA 90
CYA 20
PH 7.8

all taken using my TF 100. Any help in getting the number where they need to be with this new pool opened on 11 July will be greatly appricated .

The Chlor Brite you are using is adding 1.1 CYA for every 1.2 FC your getting so be careful not to use it too long. Recommended levels for your pool. Being in TX you will want to run on the high side of the FC scale until you have enough CYA in there to protect the chlorine.

It's interesting that you have a salt cell and chlorinator tube, I don't think I've seen that before. If your going to run the pool as a salt water pool you can keep adding the Chlor Brite until your CYA gets to 70-80 and then turn on the salt cell. How long does the pool builder want you to wait before adding salt?

Pool builder suggested 30 days before starting up the SWCG. There are quiet a few people that have the chlorinator tube and a SWG. They use the tube as a back up in the event the salt cell goes out until they can get it replaced.

Need help with what to add to get the water within the right range. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
