Got my TF-100 test kit with the speed stir today. Here are my first test results. Since Saturday evening I,ve added a total of 6 gallons of 8.25% bleach, scubbed everything and vacuumed several times. in case you all need to know.
FC= 17.5
CC= 2
TC= 19.5
CYA= 40
Ph.= 7.5
TA= 110
Thanks for any advice or guidance through the next steps of this process.
Once you determined FC was above 10 you don't need to check pH as it won't be accurate. The concern is CC of 2 which means your killing something that's still growing. So keep your FC at slam level as constantly as you can until your CC drops to .5 or less.
Quick question. Once the slamming process is over. How long does it take for the chlorine to fall back to a safe swimming level? Generally. Days , a weak or so? Thanks
Safe swimming is at any FC under the SLAM level. That's what the usual answer is here. Can take minutes. But a few hours is probably normal. Every pool is a little different, some more than others.
Pool is looking great. Crystal clear. Numbers are all falling in line. I can probably do the overnight test Saturday night and I bet it will be good. My question for you guys is once I've completed the slamming process can I, or should I turn back on my inline tablet feeder ?
Thanks Jason. So let me make sure I understand. From here on out my main chemical will be just liquid bleach. No more tablets or dry acid or borax unless I need to increase or decrease something? The pool store will sure miss me.
Thanks to everyone for all the advice, help, and answering all the crazy questions. I believe the slamming process is done. Passed the overnight test this morning. Temp. today 93. My crystal clear pool is back.:sun:
