Thanks so much for the greeting back in May which i didn't see until today .
I have had an AGP for over 30 years with minimal to no problems until this year when it was attacked by algae bloom after algae bloom. Knowing about this forum, i tried to follow the slam procedure but only had dipsticks to measure readings, until yesterday when the TF100 came in the mail.
The pool is now blue, but cloudy, and i vacuumed and cleaned the cartridge filter this morning (i am in sofla) .
I then did the measurements - quite difficult, as i am an artist and anything scientific gives me the heabie jeebies.....but i slogged thru it, and here are the results, and if possible i would like some input as to what to do next:
FC=57 --- omg !!
CC = 2.5
TC = 59.5 (is that correct? to add the 2 readings?)
TA = 100
CYA = 70
BTW, i think the blooms were caused by algae in the 'wedding cake' stairs -- i pulled them away from the side and used the high pressure setting on the hose to blow it out, and boy oh boy what a mess!!
Any help on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated -- and yes, i have poolmath app on my phone.
most swimmingly,
Laura
ps- pool is 10k gals, 1 hp motor, pentair cartridge filter
