Hello all!

We recently purchased a property with a pool and I got the water tested at a Pool store. The pool has a SWG and is 85872 litres, and the results are below :

Salt : 3111ppm
Free Chlorine : 1.74ppm
Total Chlorine : 1.97 ppm
Combined Chlorine : 0.23ppm
Stabilizer : 30ppm
Calcium Hardness : 202ppm
Iron: 0.2ppm
Adjusted PH : 8.3
Adjusted Alkalinity : 107ppm
Phosphate : 452 ppb

I was recommended to add 1KG of pH - at the outlet of water return, add 250ML of PHOS OUT Ultra 2 in 1, wait 12 hours then add 2 pouches of SHOK ULTRA 3 in 1.

I have completed this ( the SWG was turned off during this ).

My questions are, can I turn back on the SWG immediately after adding the SHOK? Can I run my pool vacuum while the chemicals are "working" ? Are the rest of my numbers ok? Is there anything else I should do?

Thank you for taking the time to assist me.

Welcome to TFP. Good to have you here :)

Trouble Free Pool Care (TFPC), which is the method we use, relies on self-testing using drop-based testing. Part of reliable pool care is being sure of test results, and experience throughout the world has been that pool store testing and recommendations lead to trouble Filled pool care..

So it's somewhere between very hard and impossible for us to help.

Yes, you can run the SWG. It should be turned off when adding salt, until the salt is fully dissolved, but that's about the only restriction. Pool chemistry is always "working".

You can probably ignore phosphates. Avoid any future use of "SHOK ULTRA 3 in 1" if it contains copper. I'm guessing that's a powder. If so, don't let a pool cleaner drive directly over it before it's dissolved. Use the pool brush to sweep it around until it disappears.
