Hi everyone,
Moved into a house with a pool last September... had the pool store close it (they did it for free) and decided to open it myself. The pool as a mesh safety cover, which worked wonderfully at keeping the gunk out. The water was pretty clean when I took it off, with the exception of a few leaves and a lot of worms.
Anyway, my only problem was the shaft to the pump motor was apparently seized from sitting all winter. I had lube it up with WD-40 and use vice-grips to get it spinning feely again. After that I reinstalled everything and it started right up. The motor was heavily corroded though, so I'm not sure how long it's going to last.
