Fire in LA

Thanks for checking in. I was just reading about it and sent you some well wishes.

Thank you. This season we’ve had no rain and everything is so dry. The winds are still going strong. Hopefully they will let up. It’s so smoky.

Unfortunately, we aren't even close to being done. There is a Joe Rogan podcast from July where he talks about an LA fireman that he spoke to...fireman said with the right winds, LA would burn to the ocean and they couldn't do anything about it. Horrible, sad disaster...

The sheer scale of this is unfathomable to me. Forget the current issue that the infrastructure doesn't exist to contain these fires. The insurance/financial issues, the housing and safety of people, demand and supply issues of rebuilding, the tin foil hat issues of the land grab narrative, and the future insurability of these areas...UNFATHOMABLE. I truly feel for the people affected.

I think we truly lost our way on forest management knowledge in the last 100 years. The fire deficit is massive.

The worst part of this, I believe, is that many of these are being set by humans. Evil humans... or those in need (homeless warmth).

Stay Safe.

Thanks for sharing. We were evacuated and now are back after order was lifted. But the fires are increasing in number so it’s tough. And scary. Will keep watching and doing what’s right. The biggest fire is now working its way into the valley area. So much loss.
