Sure, he had a standard pool pump that he made portable and tied a vacuum hose with pole and vacuum rolling plate on one end and a 2" hose to the other end and just vacuumed out all the debris. He had to dump the filter basket fairly often and told me he had one with a much larger filter but it was in use elsewhere and this was his back up. He shocked the pool and poured some other chemicals he was kind of cagey about what he was putting in I suspect he wanted my regular business but I still plan on taking care of the pool myself. Since then the Winds of kicked up and push more Ash into the pool but it appears my vacuum will be able to take care of it and when this is passed I'll have the cartridge of my filter cleaned but I suspect that they'll be more Ash dumps for the next month or so and hopefully my vacuum will be able to handle it.When we where at the beach this last summer, we stayed at a resort that had 12 pools, supposedly 3 acres of pools. Every morning they rolled out small carts that had a pool pump and small pool filter mounted to it. They used a standard setup on the vacum side and a heavy hose back into the pool on the discharge side. The pumps got power through a standard plug, 110 v. I think they had 3 of them and would just roll them around vacuuming all the pools. I would guess they had something like that.
