I guess in the future I just watch after backwashing and when I lose 1 psi I add more DE?

Once you clear the pool of the fines, there is no need for the DE. Just backwash when your filter pressure rises by 25% over clean pressure.
Ok, thanks. Why do you have to buy a life time supply of DE? Haha. Oh well, I can help out my friends in the future.
It is not 100% but is so much improved. Vacuumed to waste. Backwashed once water replenished and added another round of DE.
