Finally all setup

Sorry got another question that I have seen all different responses to. How long should I be running my filter? Most days right now the pool will just sit with the solar cover in till it gets closed for the winter as it isn't suppose to be that hot here other than this weekend where it may hit 90.
My filter specs are
Water flow rate at pump (pump capacity): 2,100 gal/hr
Water flow rate at pool (system flow rate): 1,600 gal/hr.
Pool is 7000 gallons

However long it takes to satisfy your skimming needs & to remove particulates to your liking. & At least 30 minutes after adding chems. You don’t have a swg so the amount of time needed to make sufficient fc isn’t a factor for u.
There’s no set amount. Obviously in higher debris times it will need to be more & low debris times less.
I like my pool to be running when I am going to be in it/looking at it as I can’t stand seeing stuff floating on the water so I run mine from 9am to 8or9pm.
That way it has time to skim before I get in or runs my sprinkler for a while to cool my pool. I could easily get away with about 4 or 5 hours but I have several other reasons to run my pump.

We’re at 7000 gallons as well and 6-7 hrs per day is plenty. At 1600 GPH, you are cycling the pool water every 4 hrs or so. We are using salt, so the chlorinator just needs 2 hrs for our application. The salt setup has been super simple for the last 4 years.

The Smarthings temp sensors more or less run the pool. If roof temps are over pool temps, the system runs…and the solar collectors are “on” pretty much all the time. On rainy cool days the system might only run an hour or two and on sunny days at this time of year it will run 6-7 hours max. No issues with pool water quality yet.
