Filtering during SLAM

Filtration removes dead algae. If it's green then the problem isn't filtration.

Mustard algae is yellow and clumpy. A green pool is not caused by mustard algae.

Something that swampy just takes time to clear.
This is something I'm confused about, i.e. should you SLAM and bypass the filter (but recirculate 24/7) so that your not clogging the filter every hour with a ton of algae, or do you have to filter at the same time that your SLAM'ing to so that all that algae isnt consuming all the chlorine immediately.

Welcome to TFP.

Either way will work.

You can run your pump 24/7 and filter all during the SLAM if you have a large filter that does not clog up quickly.

If you have a small filter or lots of algae then you may need to SLAM in phases and SLAM with your filter on RECIRCULATE or cartridge removed and once you kill most of the algae do a filtering phase when youc an mind the filter and clean it frequently.
