Hi, there.
Went out to clean the pool today.
Found these large chunks of solid foam pieces (not froth foam but ‘packing’ or ‘liner’ foam) in the main pump filter window.
1. Has this come from a part of the filter system
2. Is it rubbish that has entered the pool. 3. Can I go ahead & clean the pool or is this a major problem.
What steps do I meed to take.

Hello and welcome to TFP! That's your salt cell, and the white build up could be calcium scale. It should be cleaned.

It would also help to know more about your system and water chemistry to help you try to prevent this from happening in the future. For now though, remove the cell and try to physically remove as much of that stuff as you can with a wooden stick like a tongue depressor or something. No metal as you don't want to scratch the cell blades
