jblizzle, that would explain the high CA reading for sure, but what about the high CYA? what causes that to be so high?

I have drained pool to just below the skimmer box. Is it worth trying to get more out to try and dilute the CYA level some more? or just run with it a little high and keep the chlorine levels up to match?

If you were ever using trichlor pucks, that could be the source of your high CYA. The problem with having high CYA is that you will probably have to maintain a FC of 10 or higher, which in return causes incorrect PH readings.
