Hi all,

This is the pressure in my filter when the pump is running on the "quick clean" option. When it's on the timer, we seem to get a quick pressure jump to 10ish, then it shuts off. We haven't backwashed the filter (not sure how to do that yet) taken the filter parts out and hosed them down yet, but reading that may help.

We are also getting this error when the pump tries to kick on.

Issue is: pool keeps turning green and cloudy, as we are fighting algae. I shock it and it gets a bit better, but is requiring 3 lbs of shock every other day to stay on top of it.

Based on my research, I'm getting the sense the pump isn't running enough and it's not helping us clear the algae, etc.

Thank you for any help!IMG_9848.jpeg

When the pump is on the “quick clean” setting it’s at the highest speed (RPM), combined with a dirty filter, the water is having a hard time getting through the media inside the filter that’s there to catch the fine particles, this in turn builds pressure.
Cleaning the filter (tear down) will help with this issue.

mcd,

When you shut the pump off, does the filter pressure go back to zero?

Thanks,

Jim R.
It does go back to zero when shutting the pump off. Also, sharing in case it’s helpful, we tried backwashing it today for the first time, which seemed to help a bit (pressure went from 40 closer to 15-20), but oddly enough, the backwash water looked clean almost immediately? We read to have to run for a bit until you see clear water, but we didn’t see any dirty water.

That may be something we try next. Last we cleaned the filters was when we closed the pool. We opened it a month ago. Does that seem right? TY for your help!
