Filter Issue?

I appreciate all of your replies. I've been out of town and haven't been able to test for a week. However, my filter now seems to be staying cleaner. I'm on my second week of not cleaning it and my pressure is good and waterfall is working properly. Might have been the stuff the pool store guy was selling me that was clogging it. Eliminating the PhosTKO is the only big change I made. My water is crystal clear. Tested this morning and just needed a little tweak. Thank you everybody for all of your input!

You might benefit from a skimmer sock. Like when you need a little pre-filtering, maybe during your next gnat attack. Like these:

Many here use much cheaper hair nets. Cheap enough to use and dispose of every day. Here's a thread about it:

You can put pre-filters on vacuums, too. Like this (though this particular one looks to have a mesh that might be too large for your gnats):

I am too in favor of skimmer socks. Be careful as price has gone up. I found some less expensive. The 30 pack appears to be a good deal, but there are no pictures, just a description. The ones I purchased in the past last quite a while, maybe even 2 months for each sock. Shop around, even on E-Bay as there may be better deals. The hair net ones do not pick up fine debris like the socks, but still work.

I just sent an e-mail to the Pool Man and will report back when my question is answered. It appears that they have an incredible deal on a 10 pack, where 5 socks are in each pack.
