A little over a quarter cup. Cup is 8 oz. Quarter cup is 2 ounces.

Honestly, 2oz in this case would be fine. No need to be that precise, at least in my opinion.

I think your pool volume is missing a zero. Your profile says 38,000 gallons. PoolMath has 3,750.

...better than making the error in the other direction and making the additions per PoolMath

No need to add acid if your pH is 7.8.

Btw- “by volume” means it is a liquid measurement as muriatic acid is a liquid.
“By weight” it would be a dry measurement. (Dry acid, calcium chloride, salt, etc.)
