Hello all! Would love your thoughts on the ideal setup for the pool and spa we will be installing. We're okay spending more for whatever setup will provide the most ideal and flexible experience. Does it make sense to have all separate equipment or just some? Details and questions below. Thanks in advance!
Fiberglass Pool
35 ft x 14 ft (Imagine Pools brand)
4 ft shallow down to 6.5 ft deep
Jandy equipment/automation
Fiberglass Spa
7 ft x 7ft (Imagine Pools brand)
4-6 jets
Raised 12" from ground
Jandy equipment/automation
Objectives
- We're in Virginia, so pool will ideally be used in mid/late Spring to early/mid Fall
- Year-round use of spa
- Spa to provide good jet pressure, but can still be heated/sanitized without jets
Questions:
1) For the ideal and most flexible setup, what equipment should be separate vs shared?
2) Actual spillover or faux spillover? We just like the look either way, but what is best for function and keeping the water clean?
3) Assuming it makes sense to use multiple pumps, should we use 2 pumps (1 for pool and spa sanitization/heating, 1 for spa jets) or 3 pumps (1 for pool sanitization/heating, 1 for spa sanitization/heating, and 1 for spa jets)?
4) How many heaters? We were originally thinking to do a heat pump/chiller for pool (just to extend the season and cool off in the middle of summer) and then a gas heater for the spa (to heat up quickly in the winter).
5) Is there any benefit to having separate filters and SWG for the pool and spa, or should those be shared no matter what?
6) 1 or 2 skimmers for the pool?
7) Is a blower needed for the spa jets, or is the separate pump enough for that purpose?
