Fiberglass pool concrete coping

Here is how experienced builder put the concrete coping. This method they say is proven good. After 2 days they will install marble. I thought that concrete needs to cure and relase moisture but for some reason failures are not common although everyone does this
I am in Greece and they do things differently.

He drilled at the reinforcement of the pool and put rebar into it. Everyone was astonished and find it very smart. Do you believe that it may have isssues?

A fiberglass pool is typically anchored into the ground by putting a 2'-3' concrete collar around it. Tying the concrete collar to the fiberglass shell with rebar is not a problem.

Coping or decking is then installed on top of the concrete collar.
