Noticed a leak at my Stenner pump and realized I needed to replace the 1/4" drainage tube. I bought replacement tube (the tube was generic LDPE) and ferrules (Stenner UCAK200 Ferrule 1/4-Inch, Pack of 10) off Amazon, but when they arrived, the ferrules slid really easily on the tube--no friction at all. I tried it anyway, and of course, it didn't hold.
Then, I bought the replacement Stenner tubing (Stenner AK4002B 1/4" x 20' UV Black Roll) and different ferrules, but again, none of the ferrules will hold any friction against the tubing. I should also note that even the ferrules that came with replacement #2 pump roller tube do not fit either, as they also slide around.
Thus, what is happening is that the tubing works its way out of the pump after some time of operation.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Is it user error? Just unlucky multiple times with the ferrules? Is there something else I can/should put on to hold the line in place?
I've been manually chlorinating for nearly 2 weeks now--what a pain.
