Finally repaired my damaged chain-link fence, and discovered my gate latch isn't as safe as it should be. Any idea on what I can do here? I can't move the posts.

You are going to need to move something to close that gap. What shifted?

I don't think anything shifted. It's been like this since I bought the house. All the top poles of the fence fit exactly.
I was thinking of getting a piece of PVC pipe and binding it to the gate post for the latch to contact.
