Fence staining; makes a HUGE difference

This is probably a no brainer, but when I was going back and looking at photos of our build I noticed again just how big of an improvement the entire yard and pool looked after our staining of our fence. It sounds silly, but you forget just how worn out and ratty it looks, then you see picture with the new stain and it simply completes the entire project.

Anyway, just making a comment and it's part of "construction".

If you're going to spend 25k-150k+ for a beautiful outdoor oasis, spend a bit more and re-stain your fence. In Dallas, it's obviously something that has to be done every 5 years or so with our heat, storms, hail, etc.

I did mine myself a while back and almost had a heatstroke! It was only like 80 degrees outside but I had full tyvek suit, gloves and rubber boots on. I looked like I was on the set of Breaking Bad but I have done it without all that and stained myself in the process. It takes weeks for that to come off! Next time I will do it in dead of winter.

Excellent suggestion..HUGE difference! In our case we waited for the pool to replace our 15 yr old fence. It makes everything better. If possible, do a 2 ft retaining wall on the back, then the 8ft fence. Copied all my neighbors on that one, much more privacy
