This year's opening has not gone well. I usually can clean up the algae at opening and have a clear pool. Not this year.
I opened in late May. I just SLAMed again. and the water is still a bit murky. But here's my question. When I turn on the pump, within a minute there's a greenish stream coming out of the jets, and the pool gets tinged with green. Is there algae in my pipes? Lurking in the solar heating on the roof? I've never had this before.
I just put in a new filter with new DE last week, so it's not that.
I'm seeing some DE residue, but could that be the dead algae? The robot cleaner takes care of that, but once the filter is running, there's more.
The pool chemistry is in balance.
