Hi All,

Found a deal on a EW 15x30 oval pool that will fit my yard nicely.
The teardown: my daughter was a huge help.
This came with nearly everything needed. pump, filter, solar cover.

The planned location:

Set the little pool up last weekend. All 4 of my kids were in it before it had 6" of water.
The sidewalk in the diagram runs along the top of the retaining wall next to the house.

Found someone selling a tri-fan deck and 1' walkaround pieces for a 24' EW pool. Picked those up. the Trifan deck pieces can be rotated and make a nice deck along the long edge of the pool. figure put them near the sidewalk and use that as the entrance for the pool.
The pool height would be adjusted to keep this deck level with the sidewalk.

Pool wall looked good initially, now I'm noticing some oxidation and a few small holes. nothing larger than a dime.

Some questions:
The wall slats are 51.5" long, this means i need a 52" liner?
Should I do anything about the oxidation/missing paint? Was researching the epoxy paint stuff for boats and stuff. Its primarily on the inside of the pool. The outer walls look good for the most part. the ugly panels could be hidden between the retaining wall and pool. The thought of painting all of the slats...
Since everything is aluminum, should I give up on trying to run saltwater? Or would the epoxy paint help with that? My youngest is 5, would like to keep this pool for atleast 10 years.

So far invested $1200 into it...

Hi All,

Posted over in the pool construction section. didnt get much input.

Now that I have it home. Noticing more corrosion on the wall slats. A few holes here and there, nothing larger than a dime.
About to pull the trigger on the liner for it. but these walls have me alittle concerned.
Looking to get atleast 10 years out of it. Should i try to put something over the corrosion like Epoxy paint, etc?

Everything else is solid. Bottom track, etc. The hardware on the uprights looks brand new for being in the ground 20+years.
