Hi, All,

This site has been invaluable over the past several months of our design process, so thank you in advance.

We are planning a free-form gunite build here in SE PA that will be roughly 41'x26' with a sun shelf and spa. PB has a 333k Btu heater spec'd in (Sta-Rite). What practical reasons might there be to NOT bump it up to a 400k Btu unit for a pool of this size?

Pool will be 3.5 feet to 8 feet in depth.

Thanks!

There's no practical reason I can see not to get the 400k btu unit unless you don't want to pay the extra $500 (or whatever the difference is) in cost to bump it up or if your gas line can't handle the 400k but unit's needed capacity and you'd have to redo your gas line. Good luck with your build!
