FYI, the pump motor works no harder at higher PSI.

It is self correcting with the flow rate being less due to the higher PSI so the motor works at a consistent HP.
Thanks. Inyo pools and some other videos say things like "can strain the pump." I trust you're correct and they're guessing.

If I was there I would ask them what part of the pump is straining?

A pump does not get "strained" unless there is a motor and impeller mismatch.

A pump just runs. If the water is difficult to move because the pipe is uphill then the water flow slows. The flow is self adjusting and the pump does not know or care. That 1 HP motor just keeps on doing its 1 HP of work with no strain.
