Those kits are just money makers for suppliers. Raise chlorine to SLAM level, avoid the algaecide, and close once the water temp is below 60F. I’ve opened to a clear pool doing just that.
You should be waiting until October-November to close the pool. It’s way to warm right now even if no one is swimming.
