just having my pool refurbished as previous owner thought paint was a good idea
poor pool company had to grind off old epoxy paint
repair render/plaster and then paint with the eco-bright

very happy with the guys work
but i am unsure of the motley finish
he assures me i wont notice it when the pool is filled
but he doesn't know TFP clear water
what do you guys and girls think

I think I heard an installer on the forum say that is normal
for the blue colors...but when filled with water will be barely noticeable.

Ecofinish shading

Great idea going with that new type of finish.
My pool is vinyl lined, but completely a concrete shell and
I might spring for that next time the liner needs replacing.

Brian- I have noticed some small "craters" in my AB finish on the floor of my pool. That's the best way to describe them. Probably about the diameter of a pencil eraser. Any thoughts? I know it's not going to be perfect, but wondering what imperfections I should be seeing? I too, have a little of the streaking, but it looks much better than my old plaster did.

I'm probably going to have to get down there with my camera and underwater housing and take some pictures and then get those to my installer. It's the middle of the pool season here, so if repairs are needed, I can wait until the Fall.

The craters aren't the AquaBright, they are just a representation of what the surface of the plaster was.

I've quickly found out that coating the existing plaster for a remodel is very troublesome in comparison to coating brand new plaster. The surface really does need to be exactly how you would like it to appear after it's coated.

Admittedly, I didn't pay attention to the surface area before they applied. This looks as if it had gotten hot, blistered, and then collapsed...if that makes sense. After the initial installation, there was about a week where it was not filled as there was an area that had to be repaired. Temps were in the 80's at the time of installation.

There are also a few blotches of something from the installation on the bottom. They are noticeable in my crystal-clear water :) Is there anything that can clean the surface of the AB to remove stains?

after having a closer inspection there are a few blisters/bubbles on internal radius edges
largest would be 2" diameter and 3/16" high
many 2" -3" long by 1/2" and about 1/32" high
many you cannot really see but you can hear when tapping with fingernails that they are hollow
what is acceptable and what will happen if they burst
not sure if epoxy had fully cured before spraying ecobright as temps were quite cold
