Hi all, I have an Easytouch 8 on a pool/spa combo. Includes waterfall multi-speeds, skim/sweep etc automation.

Since we acquired the pool, I’ve maintained just about everything including adding valves to add new features, replacing salt gen, de filters, pumps and motors. My last challenge is figuring out why the waterfall comes on in spillway mode. Note waterfall pump is separate from the pool circulation pump. I figure that there must be either a setup in Easytouch to do this but I’ve been unable to discover. Could be wired but likely in comfort.

Thanks in advance
Harold

Harold,

The Spillway mode just turns the Intake valve to suck from the pool, and sets the Return valve to send everything to the spa..

For the Spillway to work correctly, the Circuit Function must be set to Spillway.. You can't just name a circuit "Spillway" and have it work.

The EasyTouch can only have 4 valves... Intake, Return and A and B..

The Intake and Return valves operation is fixed.. It can't be changed.

What do A and B do...

Do you have ScreenLogic?? If so, show me all your Circuits.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Agree. The intake and return valves work properly as you describe. A and B are on the the 2 skimmer return valves, allowing operation of a suction vacuum in one of the skimmers or the skim function in the second, permitting me to run vacuum Navigator for a programmed time then return to skimming. What’s confusing is the waterfall has its own separate pump and intake and return- not connected in anyway to the pool circulation system. When I turn on the spillway, works fine changing intake and return valves appropriately and spillway begins overflowing properly. But also, the waterfall pump is turned on. The waterfall pump even has a speed setting for spillway, in addition to the 3 waterfall speeds. I suspect that there is a way in the configuration of the Easytouch to connect functions but I’ve not found it. BTW, waterfall works normally and independent of pool when turned on from the screen logic app.

Thanks again!

Harold,

If the waterfall pump is being controlled by the RS-485 com port, and you have a speed set for "Spillway" then I would expect the waterfall pump to run... anytime you are in the Spillway mode.. You can't have two different functions with the same Circuit Name..

Maybe I just don't understand.

When I had ScreenLogic I used my PC.. About 10 x better than a phone..

If you have two pumps on the RS-485 com port, the main pump has to have an internal address of #1 and the second pump has to have a different address usually #2. You have to set the address using the pump's control panel.. You can't do it via the EasyTouch.. the EasyTouch will show pump #1 and #2, but that does not mean the pump's address is correct.

Thanks,

Jim R.
