Easy touch syncing issue

I repoaced an easy touch indoor unit that was used that was given to me. First it said mismatched unit
Load from outdoor panel. A few minutes later it came on and it says sync. I checked the software. It says the outdoor is 2.1 and the indoor is 0.00. Also the backlight on the indoor unit is always on. What do I need to do to get this to work properly. I tried some functions and some work. Thanks

Well I turned off everything at the panel. Reinstalled the unit and it started up. My question now is the backlight is always on. Is that the norm now? It is a pl4/psl4 easy touch wired.

My backlight eventually shuts off, but I have 2.190 firmware whereas you have 2.100. I don't have it handy but if you can get the firmware update package you can see if there were any changes related to the backlight.

What features work? Do you see the time and air temp at the indoor panel?

Oh and It's really an ET4, not a pl4/psl4... It's just using the keypad from a psl.
