Dry Well - In-ground Vinyl Liner Pool

When my pool was installed, there was no ground water present when they dug the hole. Due to rare heavy rains recently, the excess groundwater caused the liner to float and when the water receded, the liner is wrinkled in many spots. I am looking for a permanent solution to keep the groundwater from rising up in these rare occasions. What is the proper procedure to add a dry well (50-100 gallon) to the deep end of in-ground vinyl liner pool after the built is already built and all the masonry work is complete. Is it as simply as removing the liner, digging the hole for the drywell in the deep end, adding the plastic dry well and surrounding with stone, fixing the vermiculite/Portland cement base and then re-installing the liner?

In my *fiberglass* pool the dry well is about 6" behind the deepest end wall. If you look down it you see stones that actually continue on to the stone bottom under the pool.
IF we had heavy ground water to worry about (and I never have) we would see water in the dry well and drop a small sump pump down to drain it off.
I know there are ways to put French drains around vinyl pools but I'm unsure if that is something that can be done after the fact easily?

I know this may not be very helpful, but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Thanks Maddie.

That is helpful.

How deep is the deep end of you pool and how far does the drywell pipe go down? My pool deep end is 6 feet deep so I was thinking to put a dry well pipe that is 8 or 9 feet deep and 8 inches in diameter in order to be able to put a submersible pump in in the event of very heavy rain that would cause groundwater to rise excessively.
