Drop water line below return?

Hello everyone! Every year when I close the pool, I drop the water line below the return jets and add antifreeze and plug them after blowing all the lines out with a compressor. This year I finally bought a nice safety cover...yay!! It’s supposed to hold up to 4,000 pounds. We live in KC and can get several inches of snow at a time. I’m worried that if I drop the water level down that low, put on the cover , then it snows and the cover will fail because the water level is too low.

What are your thoughts??

Look at the manufacturers info and it should tell how far down water can be. I'd keep it around that level to be safe. Ice/snow can be extremely heavy. No expert here but most covers say 12"-18"
