Hi. I had a Hayward VSP 3400 put in about 5.5 years ago. Worked great mostly.
Last year there was a crack in the housing that was fixed for around $500 and then had some pump not priming last fall which was resolved by Hayward.
Now I just got the dreaded Drive error pump stall error.
Should I replace the drive which is around $600 plus labor to fix or the pump which is around $1400+ labor to fix.
Obviously the math favors just the drive, but I wanted some opinions.
My prelim research shows Hayward is helping some customers with the costs but I have not heard back from them yet.
Im in AZ so I need this done ASAP with the >100 temps right now. I also read that the new drive and new pumps seem to have significantly improved so failure is not as common. Is this true?
Thanks for your feedback.
