Drained & refilling - Is it okay to use pucks while away most weekends

First, I've been turning to TFP for several years, so you guys here are the only ones I trust for advice about my pool. I have a 16' x 48" Summer Waves Pro (metal pole frame) pool, approximately 5,246 gallons, with a through-the-wall skimmer. Life happened last year, and I never got my green swamp clear - never set foot in the pool. My husband & I drained the pool today and will refill it with city water soon (I need to get a new patch kit and replace some patches as well as put new ones down - it's so much easier with no water in the pool). In the past (last year excluded), I've done well with the liquid chlorine and daily testing. However, we inherited my mother-in-law's camper and campsite about 3 hours away. We'll be gone a lot of weekends, long weekends and occasionally longer this summer. I'm wondering how using pucks during those times will affect everything else. I know using them all the time will raise CYA. I guess my question is, do I bring CYA up right away (I'll be home for at least the next 2 weeks to use liquid)? When we filled the pool new, I wasn't using the pucks, so I'm just not sure what, if anything, I need to do differently. Thanks in advance! Everyone here is so helpful. Oh, I also have the TF-Pro test kit.

You can use the pucks until the CYA gets up to 50/60ppm.

Only add 30 ppm of stabilizer to start. Then as you use pucks, when the CYA reaches 60 ppm, drain one third of the pool water and refill.
Watch the pH and TA. The acidity of the pucks will lower them. Add baking soda when the TA gets to 50 ppm
