We've owned our pool for 8 season, and we're trying to finally get the down jets working in an effort to finallllly bring the paramount PCC2000 infloor cleaning system up and running.

The pool has 4 wall returns, 1.0 HP pump. Filter pressure gauge is reading about 18 PSI. A couple years ago, we bought the Paramount Aquadaptor II slip in down jets, but we found that we could install 3, but the pressure increase across the system would blow out the 4th down jet, even when we tried wrapping the bump on the slip in with electrical tape to increase the friction to help it stick. It may work for 30 minutes, but ultimately pops out. The filter pressure increases to 20 PSI when all 4 are in. We quit trying to make it work, but we're back at it now, to see if we can make them work, as they are part of the design of the in floor cleaning system.

Reading on the forums, I've seen some recommends for electrical tape, also one for painting plumbers glue on the slip in and letting it dry before knocking in, to build up gripping surface. My spouse is concerned that if we build up too far, it will make removing the slip in very difficult, potentially causing damage to the plaster if we have to really pry it out.

We're considering possibly retrofitting to be able to use a threaded down jet but reading here suggests that would either mean breaking the plaster around the return to make it mount flush, OR a retrofit that sticks out from the wall. We're not ready to refinish the plaster in the short term, so a proper retrofit is really probably out of the question for now.

What innovative solutions do you have? We've thought about coming up with a more rigid wedge than electrical tape, which ultimately slides and moves under pressure.
