Doubling hose length for Intex SWG

Hi everyone, I just joined TFP after a few weeks of searching and reading. My first post!

We bought a 10' x 30" Intex above ground (small, I know) recently and are using an Intex SWG. We are using an 1000GPH pump, rather than the 330 that came with the pool. We would like I was wondering if we could double the hose length on the return to the pool so we could move the pump and the SWG back a few feet, farther from the pool. My question is if we found a longer hose, or an adaptor that would let us connect two hoses together, would that be a problem for the pump or SWG in some way.

Welcome to the forum.

Most of the Intex SWG require 700-3000GPH to operate correctly. Seeing that you are close to that 700GPH minimum, I would keep the SWG as close to the pump as possible. The extra length of hose after the SWG should have little to no effect on the flow rate through the SWG.

I believe the longest Intex hose is 59". If you are handy with PVC, you could make a length of 1-1/2 PVC pipe that has 1-1/2" female treaded adapters glued on each end, then use the GAME 4560 1-1/2 to 40MM adapter on each end to screw Intex hoses onto.

Thanks! And the extra hose length after the SWG won't have any adverse effect on the overall pump function?

Also, seems weird that a male to male hose connector isn't something that Intex (or any other company) makes for these pools.

No issue with the hose length after the pump, especially if they are straight runs.

I've never seen a male to male Intex 40MM adapter, I guess Intex doesn't plan on people moving the pump away from the pool or they would at least offer longer hoses.
