Hi all,
Getting the season started with my final pool inspection from the town.
I also built a deck, so I've been wrapping up the last bits of inspectable elements.
I have an alarm for the pool itself. No problem there. Two gates with the proper locks. Good there too.
Here's my challenge. We have a fence that goes around the pool and attaches to the house on both ends. So the house is part of the barrier that encloses the pool. There is one sliding glass door that leads out into the fenced in area and that door needs an alarm.
Last fall I bought the "[FONT="]Smartpool YG03 YardGard Gate/Door/Window Alarm" for this purpose.
The kit includes the main alarm box with a bypass button. Attached to that is a wire that leads to the door sensor and the corresponding magnet that mounts on the door itself. Also attached by wire is a bypass button to be mounted outside. So you can push that, and open the door to come in without the alarm going off.
If you have this alarm or something similar, how have you run the wire to the outside bypass button?
It's hard wired to both the main box and the bypass button unit, so drilling a small hole is not an option without having to cut that wire and splice it back together. If I go that route, can I cut and splice in a longer wire to run it along a longer path outside?
Looking for options.
Thanks,
