As I posted previously in my intro thread, I've had seemingly every conceivable problem with the pool and equipment that came with my house that I purchased 8 months ago. This came after an exhaustive 1.5 year search for the right house, selling my previous home and buying this one, packing everything by myself and moving out-of-state, necessary home repairs, vulture of a pool lady that I almost had to run off with a shovel, etc.
It doesn't help that I suffer from chronic daily migraines and my job is incredibly stressful, though I'm fortunately able to work from home. To top it all off and much to my horror, I encountered 8 snakes within 2 months and was ready to pack up my toys and head back to Atlanta as I'm severely ophidiophobic. After having the leaves vacuumed along with other snake deterrent actions on my part, the monsters seem to have departed (though I remain ever vigilant). In short, I haven't taken a day off to just relax in over 2 years.
That being said, last Monday on Memorial Day I finally got to swim in my pool for the first time. After swimming for awhile I parked my worn out self on my new Sunray float, and as the circulation from the returns pushed me slowly and ever so gently around the pool as I listened to Otis Redding while looking up at the beautiful palm, pecan, and crape myrtle trees overhead it suddenly hit me...it was all worth it.
