My question is simple? Do these robotic cleaners really remember the layout of your pool? This is the first season using the S50. Even though it does clean the pool, I think it is a little erratic in the way it goes about it? I'm thinking, maybe there some that are better at it than others? S50 is for AG pools. So I guess I'm limited to what I can use?

The direct answer is No, they do not remember your pool.
It has to relearn your pool every time you turn it on. They all work the same.
Visually there does not seem to be a logical process they use to clean the pool.. They appear to be just randomly roam around, but at the same time, mine never seems to miss a spot.

Tnks for come back. As I said S50 does a great job of cleaning. Wasn't complaining, just kinda curious?
