My Dolphin pool cleaner was running when a storm passed through shortly ago.

Now nothing is working. The outlet the power supply was plugged into tests good.

Is there a chance the power supply will come back to life if it has a chance to dry out?

What power supply do you have?
Pictures?
First try plugging it in to a different outlet.

How are you electrical / electronic skills?

If you are comfortable doing so, open the power supply.
- look for water intrusion. If wet, dry it out with a hair dryer on low setting.
- look for a blow fuse,
- take pictures of the internal control board. We may be able to point you to something specific to look for.

Here are some pictures. It look like the case is permanently glued together.

I wouldn’t be afraid to take it apart, but it looks like that’s not possible.

Oddly, the lights flash briefly when I UNplug it, but they do not come on when it’s plugged in and I push the startup button.

It’s hard to imagine being out in a rainstorm would do this thing in.

Looks like a pain to open. Do you have an electronics shop in the area? They may be willing to look at it. New is about $300.

I had an issue with my power supply where it seemed to stop working. I disconnected the cable with the plug from the unit for about 30 minutes and plugged it in and it worked again. Now I unplug it after I run the unit and it powers up fine every time i plug it in.

So get this…

I took my cleaner and power supply to my friendly local Maytronics dealer and they verified that the robot was OK, but the power supply was indeed dead. They didn’t have the power supply in stock, so I ordered a replacement from Inyo Pools.

While the new power supply was in transit, the old power supply was riding around in the back of my truck.

The new power supply didn’t come with a power cord, so I went to the truck to harvest the power cord from the old power supply. Just for fun, I connected the cleaner to the old power supply and plugged it in. Wouldn’t you know it, the old power supply works!

Now I’m wondering what to do with the new one? Send it back? Keep as a spare?

What do you think?

Hmmm. Like @fastrunnerdude said above.
That's strange. I don't trust electronic that mysteriously fix themselves. Keep it as a spare and if everything is good 6 months from now, you can always sell it as a new item.
